For patients who are always tired, power up their treatment plan with Triple Ginseng Root

Allison M. Payne June 2, 2025

Do you treat patients who suffer from chronic fatigue, burnout or low vitality? Make nutritional supplementation part of your approach, specifically Triple Ginseng Root from Dee Cee Laboratories.

Fatigue can have multiple causes: stress, poor sleep or overreliance on caffeine are common ones. While refining spinal health, improving sleep hygiene and recommending healthy lifestyle changes remain key components of care, the right supplement may offer additional support for patients stuck in a fatigue cycle. Triple Ginseng Root’s blend of three powerful adaptogens may support your patient’s energy, stamina and mental clarity in a natural, stimulant-free way.

What’s in Triple Ginseng Root?

Ginseng is a root with a lengthy history of use in traditional eastern medicine, but is probably best known today as an energy-boosting tea. The Triple Ginseng Root supplement includes three well-studied botanical ingredients:

  • Panax ginseng (Korean ginseng)
  • Panax quinquefolius (American ginseng)
  • Eleutherococcus senticosus (Siberian ginseng)

These plant extracts are adaptogens—substances that help the body respond more efficiently to physical and mental stress.

How ginseng targets stress

Ginseng’s primary active compounds, known as ginsenosides, are believed to modulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and influence levels of neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine. This function helps regulate stress response, energy metabolism and mental clarity.

A 2023 animal study published in Frontiers in Pharmacology highlighted that ginsenoside Rg1 can reverse fatigue behavior in subjects with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) by modulating oxidative stress and mitochondrial function, suggesting a potential mechanism for the fatigue reduction commonly associated with ginseng.

A 2022 meta-analysis published in Medicine reviewed 12 randomized controlled trials and found that Korean ginseng supplements had a statistically measurable effect on disease-related fatigue. This outcome supported the results of an earlier study, published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, in which patients undergoing cancer treatment who took 2,000 milligrams of American ginseng daily for eight weeks reported a significant improvement in their fatigue scores compared to patients who took a placebo.

Siberian ginseng has research backing its benefits in this area, as well. A review in Current Clinical Pharmacology found that this variety of ginseng increased endurance and mental performance in patients suffering from mild fatigue and weakness.

On its own, each of these three types of ginseng has formal studies behind it bearing out its benefits for patients with low energy. When combined, the trio may better support improved energy, increased resilience and enhanced overall vitality in patients with chronic fatigue or stress-related burnout.

Who benefits from ginseng supplementation?

While ginseng isn’t a cure-all, it may be especially beneficial for patients in high-stress lifestyles, perimenopausal women experiencing hormonal fatigue and older adults reporting an age-related decline in stamina. A 2024 study in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences demonstrated that ginsenosides and γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in fermented ginseng improved antioxidant capacity and mitochondrial function, both important elements in combating fatigue at the cellular level.

Chronic fatigue has no single cause. Many patients suffer from nutritional insufficiencies, stress-induced cortisol dysregulation or post-viral symptoms that can all contribute to their low-energy state. While no official statistics exist on ginseng-specific deficiency, it does not occur naturally in any foods, and the dietary patterns of most Americans do not include regular intake of adaptogenic botanicals—creating a gap that products like Triple Ginseng Root can help fill.

How to recommend Triple Ginseng Root

Each capsule of Triple Ginseng Root from Dee Cee Laboratories contains a proprietary blend of 200 milligrams each of Korean ginseng root, American ginseng root and Siberian ginseng root, plus 120 micrograms of vitamin B12 for extra vitality.

The recommended serving size is one or two capsules daily. If a patient is new to taking adaptogens or has any sensitivity to herbal supplements, you may want to advise them to start with just one capsule a day. A gradual increase allows the body to adapt.

For patients under high stress or recovering from illness, some practitioners may suggest short-term use of two capsules per day, split between morning and early afternoon. Evening use is generally discouraged due to the potential for increased alertness.

Unlike caffeine or synthetic stimulants, ginseng does not cause a jittery sensation after taking it or a low-energy “crash” after the body digests it. Most studies have shown it typically takes two to four weeks of consistent use to reach its full effect, making it ideal for longer-term management of chronic stress and fatigue. Alert your patients to stick with taking ginseng after a few days if they don’t notice any change; let them know consistency is key to experiencing the benefits of this supplement.

Triple Ginseng Root is not recommended for children, pregnant or nursing individuals, or those with uncontrolled high blood pressure. As always, DCs should assess each patient’s full health profile and any potential supplement or drug interactions—particularly for patients on blood thinners or diabetes medication—before introducing a ginseng-containing product.

A tool for whole-person healthcare

For DCs, Triple Ginseng Root offers one more way to support the body’s natural healing process. Introduce it as part of a broader anti-fatigue treatment plan that may also include spinal adjustments, lifestyle coaching and nutrition guidance, with the goal of increasing the patient’s energy by improving sleep and addressing other issues contributing to the problem.

After their fatigue resolves, suggest adding ginseng to a personalized lineup of supplements for them to take on a regular basis to maintain health and help minimize the long-term effects of stress.
