Chiropractic continuing education online; resources

CE OPTIONS ABOUND FOR CHIROPRACTIC CONTINUING EDUCATION ONLINE

Continuing education (CE) opportunities abound in the chiropractic industry, from in-person seminars to chiropractic continuing education online, webinars, local and regional conferences to the annual national gatherings such as the Parker Conference in Las Vegas and The National in Orlando.

Chiropractic continuing education online now accounts for more than half of the CE hours obtained by chiropractors, according to DCHours.com, and more than 40 states currently accept some or all of the required continuing education hours available online.

Chiropractic continuing education online and COVID-19

The stay-at-home rules from the COVID pandemic have made CE more accessible than ever. In April seven states removed limitations on distance-based learning for the current renewal period for chiropractors.

“More states are anticipated to adopt new policies as stayat-home orders from states increase due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” chiropractor Guy Annunziata told Chiropractic Economics.

Learn at your leisure

Many CE websites offer opportunities with modules in 2-15 hour segments, allowing DCs to meet the hourly credit requirements for their particular state. There are even websites, such as CE Cruncher, especially for chiropractors to perform advanced searches for chiropractic continuing education online including by keywords, providers, courses, dates, locations and state accreditations.

“Between insurance claims, provider constraints, thirdparty issues and health care industry regulations, there is a tremendous amount of information to be retained by DCs and their employees,” writes coach and consultant Monica Wofford for Chiropractic Economics. “If the future is where you’re focused, your patients will often pick up on that by the way you talk to them…Is the fact that you have a practice good enough?”

Remember that continuing education is not about certification alone, but the growth of DCs and their staff toward reaching goals, and pursuing passions in both treatment and education.
