Dr. Cyndy Shaft-Toll, Mike McCoy
Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP) Executive Vice President Dr. Sherry McAllister, DC, was named co-winner in the Directors Category at the PRNews Top Women in Healthcare Awards Luncheon, held July 16, 2019 at The Yale Club in New York City. She shares the award with Maura Bergen of Porter Novelli.
F4CP is a membership organization that educates the public about the benefits of chiropractic care. With McAllister at the helm, the organization has achieved impressive growth, in just over three years seeing membership increase from 8,000 to its current tally of more than 22,000 members.
During her time at F4CP, McAllister has harnessed the power of PR as one of the first to shine a spotlight on America’s opioid epidemic, and two years ago headed a PR campaign to bring attention to the danger of opioids.
F4CP has published various white papers, toolkits and eBooks on the issue, such as “Chiropractic: A Safer Strategy Than Opioids,” “Chiropractic: A Key to America’s Opioid Exit Strategy,” and recently, “As the Opioid Epidemic Rages On, Chiropractic is Recognized as Safer Option for Pain.”
McAllister has been featured in Forbes, U.S. News & World Report, Becker’s Spine Review, Journal of the Mississippi State Medical Association, and Livestrong.com as well as numerous trade outlets.
Outside of her work for F4CP, McAllister runs her own chiropractic practice where she treats patients on a regular basis.
McAllister, who has been profiled for Chiropractic Economics magazine, was last year accepted onto Forbes Nonprofit Council, an invitation-only community for chief executives in successful nonprofit organizations.
Honorable mentions for the Directors Category were:
