December 17, 2008 — The Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) December commencement ceremony was held Dec. 13, 2008. For only the second time in the school’s history, the commencement was held on the SCU campus in Whittier, Calif.
The commencement address was delivered by SCU alumnus Michael Reed, DC, DACBSP, CCSP, CSCS. Reed was recently named medical director of the performance services division at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Co. Reed also was selected by the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) to serve on the 62-member medical staff that supported U.S. athletes in Beijing, China at the 2008 Olympic Games.
For the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Jennifer Kroger was honored as the class valedictorian and Julia Su was recognized as the salutatorian. For the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, Dustin Nabhan was honored as the class valedictorian and Sebastian Andrew Gonzalez III was recognized as the salutatorian.
