Chiropractic Economics May 6, 2020

Joseph Pfeifer, DCJoseph Pfeifer, DC, has been named Associate Provost and College of Chiropractic Dean at Logan University. Pfeifer, who was appointed at the end of February, oversees Logan’s campus-based health professions programs, including the College of Chiropractic and the Montgomery Health Center.

Pfeifer most recently served the University of Western States (UWS) in Portland, Oregon, where he held the positions of Vice President of Clinic Affairs and Chief Clinical Excellence Officer. With more than 20 years of experience as a practicing chiropractic physician, Pfeifer earned a post professional certification from the Academy of Chiropractic Sports Physicians, a Diplomate from the American Board of Chiropractic Neurology (DABCN) and a Diplomate from the American Chiropractic Academy of Neurology (DACAN).

“The expertise and experience that Dr. Pfeifer brings to Logan will be instrumental in growing and strengthening the College of Chiropractic and Logan’s Health Centers,” said Logan President Clay McDonald, DC, MBA, JD. “We are pleased to welcome him to the Logan community and look forward to his contributions and the success that will follow.”

Pfeifer graduated from New York College of Chiropractic (NYCC), where he took coursework in Logan Basic Technique from Leonard Venezia, DC (’56), and was honored with the chiropractic technique award. He served on the NYCC faculty for 24 years, serving as a clinician and teaching courses in diagnostic imaging and neurology. During that time, Pfeifer attained the rank of full Professor and also held the responsibilities of the Chief of Staff for Clinical Services and Dean of Chiropractic Clinical Education.

“Not only does Logan have a great history and reputation, but it is poised for significant and transformative growth,” said Pfeifer. “It has, and will continue to have, a great impact on the profession, and I look forward to being a part of, and leading, a new chapter in Logan’s history.”
