Remembering Jack LaLanne and his chiropractic roots

Chiropractic Economics January 28, 2011

January 28, 2011 — In a time when smoking was still considered “manly,” and the term “working out” did not exist, health and wellness pioneer Jack LaLanne was prying people up off the couch and encouraging them to eat their vegetables.

However, what many do not realize is that before he donned his first trademark jumpsuit, LaLanne was a graduate of Oakland Chiropractic College in San Francisco. While he did not go into practice as a chiropractic physician, clearly his chiropractic education paved the way for his life’s work in the area of promoting health and wellness.

LaLanne passed away Jan. 23, at the age of 96.
