August 16, 2012 — The Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP) regularly receives emails and calls from doctors in the profession who have a connection or patient relationship with a supportive celebrity. More times than not, the F4CP is able to pursue a champion ad. Recently, the F4CP received notice that two very prominent celebrities have decided to support the F4CP campaign.
Aaron Rodgers: The quarterback for the Green Bay Packers and the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 2011, has agreed to be featured in an F4CP ad along with his father, Ed Rodgers, DC. In addition to running the ad in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and Sports Illustrated, the F4CP will also be producing 14×24 size posters, which will be available to all F4CP supporters.
In return for Rodgers support, the F4CP has been asked to contribute to a project that will have great implications for the profession. Rodgers will purchase football helmets that are equipped with new concussion reduction technology for every member of the Pleasant Valley High School football team. The F4CP will be publicizing its contribution to the football helmets, which will place the profession directly in the center of discussions regarding safety and concussion — a significant issue in sports healthcare today.
Danny Glover: The famous actor who starred in numerous movies alongside actor and director, Mel Gibson, as well as many others, has also agreed to participate in an F4CP champion ad with his chiropractor. Glover’s involvement stemmed from his long-time friendship with F4CP spokesperson Jerry Rice and his appreciation of chiropractic.
The tentative ad schedule for August and September is as follows:
- 8.22/8.23: The Orlando Sentinel will feature the F4CP ad with General Becky Halstead. This ad will recognize the 2012 FCA Convention and will run in the local area at the start of the event.
- 8.27/7.29: The Wall Street Journal will feature the F4CP hero ad. This ad is scheduled to appear during the kick off of the Paralympic Games.
- 9.5/9.7: The Wall Street Journal will feature the F4CP value-based ad. This ad is scheduled to appear during the week the F4CP will be attending and sponsoring a speaker at the 2012 IHC West Forum.
- 9.25/9.28: USA Today will feature the F4CP ad with Paralympic champion Allison Jones. This ad is scheduled to run at the close of the Paralympic Games, while the F4CP is attending the Michigan Association of Chiropractor’s annual convention.
Look forward to seeing Rodgers and Glover in later issues of USA Today and The Wall Street Journal.
