Giardina named HydroMassage CEO

Chiropractic Economics October 9, 2009

Clearwater, Florida – October 8, 2009 – HydroMassage is proud to announce that its board of directors has named Robert Giardina, formerly of Town Sports International (TSI) to serve as the company’s chief executive officer.
Giardina has been involved in the health and fitness industry for more than 30 years. In his most recent position as CEO of TSI, Giardina helped the company grow from 4 locations to more than 150. In 2006, he successfully took the company public.
HydroMassage selected Giardina based upon his proven ability to foster company growth, as well as his strong executive and interpersonal qualities. “Our search for a new leader to grow the HydroMassage brand has been focused and thorough,” said Paul Lunter, HydroMassage president. “We established a broad field of talented candidates, and Bob was clearly our top choice.  We’re delighted to have him join our company.”
Giardina expects to leverage his winning track record and personal relationships with industry leaders as HydroMassage continues to experience significant growth and brand recognition in the fitness market.  In recent years, the fitness industry has become one of the company’s key areas of concentration.
Giardina commented, “Having spent so much of my career building a successful fitness club company, it’s been enlightening for me to view this industry from the eyes of an equipment manufacturer.  After considering a number of other opportunities, HydroMassage was the best fit for me.”  He also expressed his vision for the future of the company by saying, “HydroMassage has been successful for over 20 years in the medical industry and I am looking forward to expanding its reach within the fitness industry. I believe HydroMassage can help solve many of the issues currently facing the health and wellness industry, including member service and member acquisition.”
