September 15, 2010 — Northwestern Health Sciences University added a chiropractor to its Bloomington Natural Care Center team. Jon Mulholland, DC, CCSP, CSCS, a 2000 graduate of Northwestern, started on Sept. 1, 2010.
“I love this school,” said Mulholland. “I’m excited to be working with student interns and teaching them some of the things I’ve learned.”
After obtaining his doctor of chiropractic degree from Northwestern, Mulholland received further certifications as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
Mulholland and his family relocated from New York to take the position at Northwestern. He sold his two private chiropractic practices in New York — a sports injury practice in Plattsburgh and a general chiropractic practice in Elizabethtown — after accepting his new position.
For the past five years, Mulholland served as a chiropractic consultant for the United States Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, N.Y. He has traveled extensively as one of the team chiropractors for the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Teams; has been a sports medicine consultant for the New Zealand Cycling Teams; and was the team chiropractor for the U.S. Paralympic Teams at the 2010 Paralympics Winter Games in British Columbia, Canada.
“I was, and still am, a pretty big athlete,” said Mulholland. “It allows me to bring a better knowledge base to the treatment room.”
