Spice for life: cayenne supplements

Chiropractic Economics May 5, 2014

By Brandi Schlossbergcayenne_pepper

Similar to so many other fruits and vegetables, cayenne peppers can bring health benefits to our bodies. However, due to the spicy nature of these particular vegetables, many people may not choose to eat them—or at least not in amounts high enough to derive the fullest benefits. For these reasons, it can become quite helpful to have a high-quality cayenne nutritional supplement on hand.

From weight loss and joint health to pain relief and cancer prevention, it seems the health perks of getting plenty of cayenne can span a wide spectrum. In the realm of cancer prevention, the use of a cayenne pepper nutritional supplement is still in the research phase. Several studies have revealed promising results when it comes to the capsaicin—the heat-related component of cayenne peppers—and the inhibition of certain types of cancer.

Taking a cayenne nutritional supplement can make it much easier to get higher levels of capsaicin without taking on the heat that comes with eating cayenne peppers. Besides potentially helping to prevent cancer, cayenne has also shown promise when it comes to easing pain. Again, for those folks who would like to tap the power of capsaicin without the fiery feeling, cayenne pepper nutritional supplements may be the product of choice.

These supplements have been linked to losing weight, as well. The driving forces behind this connection, according to researchers, may be the ability of cayenne supplements to help decrease hunger, increase fat burning, boost insulin sensitivity and raise energy levels. Therefore, folks who are attempting to shed some pounds may want to begin looking into recipes that call for cayenne peppers. In addition to spicing up one’s diet, picking out a quality cayenne nutritional supplement may also help streamline the process of dropping pounds.

In terms of joint health, the potential benefit of cayenne supplements goes back to capsaicin’s ties to pain relief. This spicy compound, contained in cayenne peppers, has not only be researched for its pain-relieving qualities, but also for its possible powers in the area of reducing inflammation.

Of course, these are just a few of the possible perks one may achieve by incorporating the use of a cayenne pepper nutritional supplement into his or her routine. Other potential uses of cayenne supplements for health include headache prevention, digestive assistance and more.
