For clinics participating in the Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) the 2016 deadline is March 13th, 2017. Participants who do not file their data by the deadline may receive lower payments from CMS in 2018, so clinics who use the Medicare EHR Incentive should do their own research to determine which requirements apply to them.

Telligen chosen to provide support for small practices in CMS quality payment program

Today, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) awarded a contract to Telligen to help small practices in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota prepare for and participate in the new Quality Payment Program, established by the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA). D’Youville receives grant for innovative virtual dissection table

D’Youville College has received an $80,400 grant from the James H. Cummings Foundation, Inc. of Buffalo, for the purchase of a unique Anatomage Table for the chiropractic department. The table is the world’s first virtual dissection table featuring the most advanced three dimensional anatomy visualization system, according to the manufacturer Anatomage. It is used globally and may be the only one currently in operation in Western New York, according to the college. The foundation of chiropractic education and student success is human anatomy.
Common painkillers don’t ease back pain, study finds

Painkillers such as aspirin, Aleve and Advil don't help most people with back pain, a new review finds. The researchers estimated that only one in six people gained a benefit from taking these nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Meanwhile, previous research has suggested that another common painkiller, Tylenol (acetaminophen), isn't very useful either, the study authors added. he findings raise the prospect that no over-the-counter painkillers really ease back pain, at least in the short term, and some may raise the risk of gastrointestinal problems.
