AYUSH Herbs’ new Thyro-M offers thyroid support

Chiropractic Economics November 6, 2010

November 6, 2010 — Ayush Herbs Inc., one of the premier Ayurvedic herbal companies in the U.S., introduces Thyro-M, a thyroid supplement formulated to provide support for a healthy thyroid function.

Available solely to healthcare professionals for resale to their patients, the formula includes a synergistic blend of the following amino acids, minerals and Ayurvedic herbs to stimulate thyroid function: L-Tyrosine, ashwagandha, bacopa monnieri, guggul, Indian long pepper, black pepper, ginger, varuna, cinnamon and cardamom, all with a unique affinity for the thyroid and other associated functions.

According to Dr. Virender Sodhi, Ayurvedic MD, naturopath physician and CEO of Ayush Herbs, the incidence of iodine deficiency, which can indicate low thyroid function, was almost eradicated in the U.S. in the 1970s, but has recently increased four-fold, with 12 percent of Americans now testing low for iodine levels.

Low levels of radiation from computers, cell phones, televisions and other devices may play a role in hypothyroidism.

“The thyroid is an iodine-rich gland and radiation has an affinity to iodine. Low-level radiation will bind on iodine and may cause the thyroid to become dysfunctional,” explained Sodhi.

He went on to say that many common environmental chemicals (including fire retardants, which are added to numerous everyday products) also contribute to thyroid dysfunction.
