July 29, 2012 — Kenny Chiropractic Health Center recently announced that Dale G. Kenny, DC, will be celebrating his 55th anniversary as a chiropractor and long-term wellness expert Aug. 16, 2012.
In honor of his remarkable service, Algoma Mayor Wayne Schmidt will be officially declaring this date as “Dr. Dale G. Kenny Day.”
During his career, Kenny estimates that he has given more than 1 million spinal adjustments to patients ranging in age from new-born babies to 96. His patients have travelled as far as 50 miles to see him on a monthly basis and he is currently taking care of families spanning four generations.
In 1902, Thomas Edison said: “The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will instruct his patient in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.” Kenny’s work is a great example of this.
At the ripe age of 12 years old, Kenny discovered chiropractic when his mother took him to a local chiropractor for his migraine headaches, boils, hyper-sensitivity, nervousness, and neck and spine pain. After his initial examination, his chiropractor corrected his spinal subluxations by applying pressure to his vertebra where he received immediate positive results and was fascinated by this holistic profession.
After he graduated from Superior Central High School, he then decided to attend Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis. He graduated in 1957 and began practicing in Superior, Milwaukee, Manitowoc, and Casco before settling in Algoma where he has been for the past 51 years.
“It is a privilege of love and joy serving and caring for so many wonderful people all these years,” states Kenny. “Time has passed very quickly and I am looking forward to many more good years of serving.”
Kenny has been married to his wife Bonnie for the past 32 years and has six children and one granddaughter. His oldest daughter and son, Charisse J. Huston, DC, and Bradley J. Kenny, DC, are also chiropractors who went to Logan College of Chiropractic.
He is a Fellow of the International Chiropractic Association. He is also a member of the Wisconsin Chiropractic Association and recipient of their Teuteberg Award, for influencing many to become chiropractors.
