WellWave System delivers acoustic energy therapy for nonsurgical treatment

Chiropractic Economics February 27, 2011

February 25, 2011 — Richard Wolf Medical Instruments Corporation (MIC), an international manufacturer of medical devices for endoscopic and minimally invasive surgical equipment, today announced the U.S. launch and immediate availability of its WellWave focused energy system for the effective, nonsurgical treatment of chronic and acute musculoskeletal pain.

Featuring Richard Wolf’s exclusive piezoelectric acoustic energy generation system, the WellWave is manufactured to deliver precise healing energy that emulates the effects of a focused manual deep-tissue massage to stimulate the body’s natural healing response.

The WellWave system is marketed as an effective, ergonomic alternative to the physical effort and exertion required in conventional massage therapy, reducing the muscle fatigue and the potential of repetitive stress injury for the therapist and enabling the treatment of more patients during the day.

“Recent studies suggest that more than 65 percent of the population over the age of 55 suffers from some form of chronic joint or muscle pain,” said Ron Haselhorst, a WellWave Team advisor for Richard Wolf MIC. “The WellWave system conveniently offers an affordable treatment option that can be done in 10 to 20 minutes just a few times a week to achieve lasting improvement. In many acute pain scenarios such as a sports injury or soft tissue trauma, a single session may be all that’s needed.”
