Top 5 health and wellness articles of 2024

The global wellness market is expected to hit $9 trillion by 2028, according to the Global Wellness Institute, so it’s no surprise that health and wellness topics are popular web searches.

Chiropractic Economics readers support this trend. In our recent readership survey, they indicated they want more coverage of wellness (38%), healthy aging (31%) and immunity and longevity (28%).

The following are the top five most popular health and wellness articles for 2024, listed in no particular order:

1. Holistic solutions for patients who can’t sleep

by Lexi Loch, ND

Sleep dysfunction impacts most people at some point in their lives. For many, these issues are temporary and resolve on their own. For patients needing more consistent support, layering in lifestyle modifications and targeted supplementation can be life-changing.

2. Research to reality: Breaking ground in Alzheimer’s disease treatment

by Robert G. Silverman, DC

Recent research has begun to explore the idea that little can be done to slow, stop or even reverse mild cognitive impairment or early dementia from Alzheimer’s disease.

3. The body’s own cannabinoid system for healing

by Joe Kryszak, MBA

The endocannabinoid system is a powerful ally in the pursuit of health and wellness. For DCs and integrative health practitioners, understanding and leveraging the ECS can enhance patient care by addressing the root causes of pain, inflammation and stress.

4. Treatment strategies for cervicogenic headaches

by Mark Sanna, DC

Cervicogenic headaches are characterized by unilateral pain that starts in the neck, often after movement or injury. Research in this area has made incredible progress in understanding the mechanisms behind CGHA, as well as highlighting beneficial treatments and optimal care strategies.

5. The one test that could change your female patients’ lives

by Cindy M. Howard, DC

Menstrual symptoms, beyond some mild cramping or even a skipped period here and there, are not inevitable. They’re a sign something is out of balance. If you start tracking female patients’ symptoms, testing their hormone levels and trying out some natural remedies, you’ll be amazed at the progress you can make.
