Event Website: thenationalchiro.com
Hosted by: Florida Chiropractic Association (FCA)
Location: Orlando,
Florida
Time of Year: Late
summer, usually around the middle to end of August
Length of Event: 3
½ days (Thursday afternoon to Sunday evening)
Attendance Information: Approximately 3,000 professionals attend The National by FCA. While many are chiropractors and their office staff, health care providers in related industries such as physical therapy and massage therapy attend as well.
Additionally, members of the FCA are offered reduced
registration rates over non-members, with members who are either a student or a
first-year Florida DC able to attend free. Staff can attend at lower rates yet,
and the earlier you register, the lower the rate.
Types of Topics Covered: With around 100 different speakers per event, the topics covered at the National are numerous and include those related to acupuncture, cannabis, endocrinology, imaging, laser therapy, lifestyle medicine, Medicare audits, billing and coding, patient education, and more.
In general, all of these topics are designed to teach healthcare
professionals how to elevate their practices while also honing their skills as
a master practitioner.
Past Speakers: A
few of the individuals the FCA has had speak at past National events include:
- Matthew Antonucci, DC, DACNB, FACFN, FABCDD,
FABVR, FABNN - Spencer H. Baron, DC, DACBSP
- Daniel Bourassa, DC, MS, PhD
- Mark L. Callanen, PT, DPT, OCS
- Tina Allen, LMT, CPMMT, CPMT of Liddle Kidz
Foundation - May Bagnell, lifestyle portrait and brand
photographer, and life coach
CE Availability:
The National offers 20 continuing education (CE) hours and these hours are
approved in almost all 50 states. This event also offers hours toward other
healthcare professionals’ required CEs, making it a beneficial convention for
those working as certified respiratory therapists and licensed massage
therapists, for instance.
Vendors: There are hundreds of healthcare-related businesses with booths at The National. This gives attendees exposure to vendors that offer the latest products and services related to imaging, labs, health care supplements, pain relief options, equipment, professional insurances, business finances, and more.
Additional Information: Because The National is so large, many chiropractic colleges offer alumni events during the event. And if you’re still in high school or college and interested in becoming a student of chiropractic, The National also offers the opportunity to meet with these same colleges right on site.
