May 26, 2011 —The Board of Directors of WikiChiro.org recently announced the official organization of the WikiChiro Foundation, created to provide a scientifically unbiased center for the public and for the profession to obtain the most current scientifically accurate information regarding the chiropractic profession and ultimately for complementary and alternative medicine as well.
The foundation will now incorporate in New Jersey, and file for 501C(iii) status as a charitable institution. WikiChiro will not accept advertisements or corporate money, and all editors will need to identify themselves and reveal any conflicts of interest.
Elected Chairman of the WikiChiro Board, Dr. Steven Press is best known for being the founder of the Fédération Internationale de Chiropratique du Sport (FICS).
In the last few years, Press has become the editor-in-chief for alternative medicine in WikiDoc.org, a Harvard Medical School based medical site, and is Executive Technical Director for OurMed.org, a similar site originated by a Columbia Medical School Professor.
