Standard Process Inc. awards $7,500 in scholarships

Chiropractic Economics Staff October 4, 2016

October 3,  2016— Standard Process Inc., a Wisconsin-based visionary leader in whole food nutrient solutions, has awarded three students from the Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) in Whittier, California $2,500 each to go towards their education in holistic healthcare. Standard Process has been awarding scholarships to SCUHS since 2010.

“I am beyond grateful for the opportunities that Standard Process has provided me while pursing my graduate education in acupuncture and Chinese medicine,” said Kenneth Mittelstadt. “Thank you, Standard Process, for not only supporting me with the cost of pursuing my degree with this generous scholarship, but also for providing a variety of products that have helped me stay functional and healthy throughout the challenges of pursuing a rigorous health science degree.”

Mittelstadt is studying acupuncture care and is in his sixth trimester of school and expects to graduate in December 2017. He currently holds a 3.97 GPA at SCUHS.

“I grew up on Standard Process products,” said Kimberly Maugeri. “It is a personal accomplishment and an honor to be someone this admirable company chose to support at this stage in my career. Thank you so much!”

Maugeri is on her way to becoming a chiropractor and is in her sixth trimester of school and expects to graduate in December 2017. She currently holds a 3.48 GPA at SCUHS.

“It was a great surprise and an extreme honor to receive this prestigious scholarship,” said Courtney Brandenburg. “I have personally seen the amazing work that Standard Process products are capable of and truly believe in their power. I am looking forward to integrating them into my chiropractic practice upon graduation as a means of therapy and way of reaching optimal health for patients.”

Brandenburg is in her sixth trimester and is also studying chiropractic care. She expects to graduate in December 2017 and holds a 3.37 GPA at SCUHS.

Standard Process believes in being a catalyst for change, one that helps others commit to leading a healthier lifestyle. The company partners with U.S colleges and universities to assist students who are pursuing careers in chiropractic or acupuncture care to promote furthering their education in whole food nutrition.

In addition to answering the provided essay question pertaining to their field of study, SCUHS students had to have the following criteria to qualify for a Standard Process scholarship:

  • Cumulative G.P.A of 2.9 or higher
  • Available to all students with at least one quarter remaining before graduation
  • List of your contributions to the chiropractic profession, to SCUHS and to the community
  • Letter of recommendation from a SCUHS  Sciences professor
