RF Co. Ltd. seeks help for Japan relief efforts

Chiropractic Economics April 15, 2011

April 15, 2011 — RF Co. Ltd. expresses its heartfelt sympathy to the victims and their families who suffer from the earthquake in Japan and the Pacific Ocean, which occurred on March 11, and sends prayers for earliest possible restoration as well as everyone’s safety and health.

RF Co. Ltd. and all of its affiliates are committed to the support of the disaster relief and restoration in the affected areas with its full efforts. They are seeking donations from the chiropractic community and would greatly appreciate any help you can assist with donations. You can give by calling 800-905-1554.

Details of impact to RF and its efforts

1. Aftermath of the earthquake on the Sendai showroom: They were preparing to open their Sendai Showroom from March 19. Its employees in Sendai, who were preparing for the opening event from the previous week, were also among those affected by the earthquake. Fortunately, all of them were safe.

Some of the staff who still remains in Sendai is without electricity, water, and the ability to make telephone calls. The corporate housing being prepared in Wakabayashi-ku was washed away by the tsunami. The building where the showroom was planned to open requires reconstruction.

2. The actions to assist the recovery efforts in Northern Japan: The principle product of the company is a digital X-ray sensor, NAOMI. This is a medical device that is required in daily treatment of patients in the medical and dental fields.

In all of Japan, especially the northern prefectures, many clinics are still using X-ray machines that require film. Implementation of digital X-ray sensors is unavoidable considering the broken automatic film developing systems as well as the shortages in the provisions of film and developing solutions.=

Therefore, they have organized a team of 15 employees at the Nagano headquarters, changing the efforts to emergency assistance in Sendai and Omiya where they had planned to open showrooms. They will start the relief work in Northern Japan March 20 with five emergency assistance vehicles certified by Nagano Police Department.

They are working to increase production of NAOMI at their Nagano headquarters, but they need to gather information about how their component manufacturers and suppliers have been impacted. They are ready to work throughout the holidays and weekends to start the production as soon as possible.

3. Provision of autopsy equipment requested by Police Dentists: RF Co. Ltd. will provide a large number of digital X-ray equipment, although it’s unsure as to how many units, for the identification of earthquake and tsunami victims. They will bear any other related costs.
In addition, strong requests for further assistance, such as maintaining equipment, have been increasing each day from medical institutions in areas that have been affected.

They plan to gather people from their branch offices at the Nagano headquarters and do whatever they can to cooperate with Omiya and Sendai as much as the status of aftershocks, entry to the disaster-stricken areas, and reconstruction will allow. RF Co. Ltd. asks for your support and participation in these efforts.

If you are interested in being part of RF’s efforts to aid in the recovery from the disaster, please call 800-905-1554 or email ajcheesman@naomi-dr.com.
