Parker University dean appointed new COMTA commissioner

Parker University’s Drew Riffe, DC, LMT, Dean of the College of Health Sciences, has been named a new Commissioner for the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA).

Through this appointment opportunity, noted a Parker University press release, Riffe will be able to display his commitment to health sciences education and raising professional standards in massage therapy, bodywork, esthetics and skin care. He will also demonstrate his unique expertise and passion for educational excellence and professional development. He says this appointment grants him the opportunity to give back to an industry which has richly blessed his life and those around him.

Riffe’s contributions to the accreditation process can help shape the future of certain healthcare professions, highlighting Parker University’s leadership in the health sciences education sector.

About the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation

Since 2002, the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA) has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a specialized accrediting agency. This commission of volunteers includes 10-13 elected commissioners, including at least two public representatives. COMTA accredits educational institutions and programs offering instruction in massage therapy, bodywork, esthetics and skin care. Formed to establish and maintain the quality and integrity of these professions, with COMTA accreditation, the standards you’re meeting reflect the national needs of the profession.
