Chiropractic Economics Staff January 29, 2014

Tom_NunezJanuary 29, 2014 — Parker University recently appointed Thomas Nunez as its chief marketing officer. Founder of a successful marketing firm, Nunez joins Parker University with more than 15 years of experience in marketing and business development as a senior member of higher education and healthcare organizations.

In his new role, Nunez will provide strategic leadership of the university’s integrated marketing and communications efforts. He will also serve as a member of Parker University’s executive leadership team.

“Tom’s background in higher education and health care marketing and communications is the perfect fit for this role,” said Gery Hochanadel, PhD, provost of Parker University. “His insights and experience will be tremendously valuable as we continue to grow our current degree programs, introduce new programs, and increase awareness of Parker by expanding our reach.”

Previously, Nunez served as vice president of marketing and communications at Daymar Colleges Group in Owensboro, Ky., where he led all aspects of marketing and communications for its online and 20 ground campuses.

In his former position as executive director of marketing and business development at Beacon Group U.S.A., Nunez led a 35 percent growth in company net profits over a three-year period by utilizing technology and best practices to improve the engagement management process, streamline operations, and optimize resources. He also increased revenue by 150 percent, including a 35 percent increase in international revenue, for executive education programs at Penn State University by conceptualizing and implementing targeted email and Web-based lead generation campaigns.

In addition, Nunez founded and served as president of Turnkey Marketing, Incorporated, a full service marketing firm offering strategies and solutions for clients in the higher education and technology sectors.

He also developed and executed a full-scale demand generation turnaround plan as vice president of marketing for the Bariatric division at Detroit Medical Center.

Nunez holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Georgia State University.

A member of the American Marketing Association, Nunez was selected as a key presenter for the Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities Convention on the subject of social media usage in customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.
