ChiroSpring announces inclusion of ICD-10 codes

Chiropractic Economics September 14, 2015

chirospringChiroSpring practice management software recently announced the release of their latest software update, ChiroSpring Version 4.0. While this major software update adds over 100 new features to the already innovative EHR program, one of the major inclusions in the latest version is the implementation of the highly anticipated ICD-10 diagnosis codes. These updated International Classification of Disease diagnosis codes will be required for use beginning October 1, 2015. As chiropractors prepare to transition to the use of the latest version of ICD codes, ChiroSpring practice management software is making the transition for their customers far simpler.

Adoption of the ICD-10 coding system represents a significant challenge for chiropractors and their staff. With over 141,000 codes to choose from, doctors need an easy way to quickly and easily identify the precise code they are looking for. ChiroSpring helps ease the burden on their customers by implementing custom solutions that do exactly that.

“In these rapidly changing times, chiropractors look to their EHR software to provide simple solutions to complex problems,” ChiroSpring CEO Brian Albery said. “ChiroSpring offers our customers a number of tools built into the program to help ease the transition to ICD-10. Along with an ICD-9 to ICD-10 mapping link, we provide our clinics a collection of the most common chiropractic codes in an easy-access format. And to simplify the decision-making process, we’ve designed the ICD-10 selection grid to guide our doctors into making an accurate code selection with the least amount of time and effort.”

When faced with making an accurate ICD-10 code selection, ChiroSpring allows its users to benefit from a tree-structure breakdown. Doctors can select a code by initially selecting the high-level diagnosis, and continually selecting from more and more detailed options, eventually finishing with the proper diagnosis code presented to them by the software.

These step-by-step code selections allow doctors the freedom to choose any code they’d like, but also encourages them to make the most detailed and accurate code selection. Such automation tools allow doctors to produce detailed, audit-worthy SOAP Notes with the simplicity of selecting ICD-9 codes.

As always, ChiroSpring is offering this ICD-10 update, and the dozens of additional updates in its Version 4.0 software for no additional cost to its customers. Each ChiroSpring customer automatically receives the latest version of their program as soon as it’s made available.
