Parker University announces two finalists in presidential search

Chiropractic Economics Staff November 29, 2012

November 29, 2012 — The presidential search committee, headed by Dr. Wright L. Lassiter, Jr., has recommended two finalists in the search for the presidency of Parker University. The new president will replace Fabrizio Mancini, DC, who has retired after serving as president for just under 14 years.

The finalists, who all offer extensive experience in higher education and in the chiropractic profession are: Brian J. McAulay, DC, executive vice president and provost of Life University; and William Morgan, DC, clinical department head at the National Naval Medical Center, Walter Reed Military Medical Center and the Uniformed Services University of Health Services.

Both finalists are active chiropractors, with extensive academic teaching experience and broad community service. Each finalist has research and publication credits, and an extensive array of professional presentations.

To provide the community, students, and university staff an opportunity to meet and hear the vision of each candidate for Parker University, each finalist will speak at a public forum in the Standard Process Student Activity Center from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. on the Parker University main campus at 2540 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, Texas 75229. McAulay will share on Nov. 30 and Morgan will share Dec. 3. Each finalist will also be interviewed by the full board of trustees, faculty senate, student senate, and president’s council.

The finalists were recommended by a board-approved, nine-member search committee selected from the board of trustees. The national search resulted in a total of 36 applicants for the presidency of the university.

“This recommendation is the culmination of hours and hours of reviewing applications and interviews,” said Lassiter, search committee chair and member of the Parker University board of trustees. “The committee felt that these two candidates best fit the presidential profile that was approved by the board of trustees before the search began.”
