Northwestern Health Sciences University, chiropractic, scholarships, academic, awards

March 10, 2011 — Northwestern Health Sciences University awarded $43,000 in academic scholarships to 34 chiropractic students. This is the largest amount of money ever awarded to students in homecoming history.

The individual awards ranged from $250 to $2,500. The scholarships were announced and distributed at the annual chiropractic homecoming in early February.

Chiropractic student Jessica Svennes was ecstatic when she received the Dr. John F. Allenburg Scholarship and the Dr. V. Duane Henre Scholarship. “These scholarships help reduce the financial burdens of attending graduate college,” she said. “This allows students like myself to concentrate on the most important aspect of school, which is learning.”

“Receiving these scholarships meant a lot to me because they were based on my performance by faculty members,” said Danielle Hargreaves, chiropractic student, who received the Dr. John B. Wolfe Scholarship and the Dr. O. A. Weum Memorial Scholarship. “I admire the generosity of both families providing scholarship opportunities for Northwestern students.”
