Northeast College and UNF Canada create new DC track

Chiropractic Economics Staff August 4, 2025

UNF CanadaNortheast College of Health Sciences and the University of Niagara Falls Canada (UNF) have announced a new educational partnership featuring an articulation agreement that creates streamlined, cost-effective pathways to Northeast’s Doctor of Chiropractic program.

This cross-border collaboration—one of several ways Northeast supports Canadian students, who currently make up 20% of the Seneca Falls, New York-based college’s student body—allows eligible students to join a 4+3 articulation track. Participants can earn a bachelor’s degree from UNF Canada and a Doctor of Chiropractic from Northeast one year faster than they can by completing both degrees separately, while also securing guaranteed admission to Northeast.

Students majoring in UNF’s Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences (HBSc) program or a program of emphasis (POE) are eligible.

Strong support for Canadian students at Northeast

UNF students who are Canadian citizens are also eligible for Northeast’s Canadian Chiropractic Scholarship, one of more than 500 financial awards offered annually. The scholarship is valued at 30% of tuition fees.

“We’re excited to partner with the University of Niagara Falls Canada to expand educational and leadership opportunities that support academic excellence,” said Michael Mestan, DC, EdD, president of Northeast College. “This collaboration highlights our commitment to increasing access to outstanding health sciences degrees for Canadian students. We look forward to welcoming UNF students who are ready to advance their education and become part of the future of healthcare.”

“This agreement reflects our deep commitment to creating meaningful pathways that support student success,” said Lisa Zhuo, director of global engagement and partnerships at UNF. “By partnering with Northeast College of Health Sciences, we’re helping students accelerate their academic goals and fast-track their entry into the healthcare field, where they can start making a difference sooner.”

The agreement was formally signed by David Gray, provost and vice president, academic at UNF, and Amie Redmond, vice president for enrollment management and student affairs at Northeast College. With guided support from both institutions, students can avoid unnecessary coursework and begin their path to Northeast by submitting a letter of intent signed by their undergraduate advisor.

Other recent partnerships

Earlier in July of this year, Northeast College entered into similar partnerships with Stockton University in New Jersey and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, offering qualified students an accelerated pathway to its doctor of chiropractic degree after completing their undergraduate studies.
