New York Chiropractic College holds commencement

Chiropractic Economics April 16, 2014

DSC02360_cropApril 16, 2014 — On Saturday, April 5, New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) held commencement exercises in the Standard Process Health and Fitness Center and conferred Doctor of Chiropractic degrees to 44 candidates.

The commencement address, delivered by Chairman of the New York State Board of Chiropractic Scott E. Kilmer, DC, expressed how students arrive at NYCC as strangers and emerge as graduates who share a common bond, drawn closer through personal growth and academic experiences.  Though much has changed in chiropractic education throughout the years, “there is one constant – the tools of your trade at the end of your wrists – your hands.  You have a great power to facilitate healing.  The world awaits your talents,” said Kilmer.

Recognized for unwavering commitment to the chiropractic profession, Dr. Kilmer operates a private practice in Auburn, NY, assists the Auburn Memorial Hospital, serves on the New York State Association of County Coroners and Medical Examiners, and is the current Cayuga County Coroner Investigator.  He has authored chiropractic publications and delivered professional lectures around the country.  Affiliated with the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners since 1998, he also is recipient of the Distinguished Service Award for New York State Chiropractic Association’s District 12.  A Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists, he serves on the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists.

Tapped as Fellows of the American College of Chiropractors (FACC) during the exercises were New York Chiropractic Council President John J. LaMonica, DC, (NYCC ’85); MPN Software Systems Founder Michael P. Norworth, MA; NYCC Board of Trustees Chair John P. Rosa, DC, (NYCC ’92); and MPN Software Systems Co-founder Karen M. Walters, DC, (NYCC ’82).
