Logan University appoints executive clinical business director

Chiropractic Economics October 2, 2013

BarryWieseOctober 2, 2013 — Barry Wiese, DC, MHA, has been named executive clinical business director of Logan University. Wiese will be responsible for the management of Logan’s student health and outpatient centers’ business operations as well as patient and customer services; marketing and compliance; quality assurance of patient files; billing records; and staffing and credentialing.

His position is effective Nov. 1, and he will report to Michael Wittmer, DC, Logan’s chief of staff.

Wiese brings nearly 20 years of experience as a clinical administrator and educator to his new role at Logan. He most recently served as dean of clinics at Texas Chiropractic University where he was responsible for all aspects of clinic operations, patient care delivery, and clinical education. Prior to that, he worked in clinical positions at both New York Chiropractic College and Palmer College of Chiropractic, and operated the Colorado Sports Chiropractic Center in Louisville, Colo.

“As a clinician, working at three previous colleges, I’ve always had a strong desire to positively impact what students get out of their experience,” Wiese said. “My new position at Logan will enable me to have a broader impact on more students while focusing on clinical quality and service excellence.”

Wiese received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic and earned a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration and Management from Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago.

During his career, Wiese earned certifications in strength and conditioning, chiropractic sports medicine, quality process analysis, and received his diplomate certification in chiropractic neurology.

Wiese is a member of the Medical Group Management Association, American College of Healthcare Executives, American Society for Quality and American Public Health Association.
