October 26, 2018—The International Alumni Association of Life University is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2018 Annual Recognition Awards.
Through their professional accomplishments and personal service, nine honorees were selected as representatives of professional success, social contribution and cultural change. These outstanding individuals were honored at the Lasting Purpose Recognition Lunch held during our 2018 Fall CElebration Event on Life University’s campus.
This year’s recipients are:
- Debbie Flynn, DC – Distinguished Alumnus Award
Honors a Life University alumnus who has reached the pinnacle of success in her career and has brought credit to herself and to Life University.
- Josh Paxton, DC – Young Alumnus Award
Honors a young Life University alumnus, who has graduated within the last 10 years, for his outstanding professional and community achievements.
- Tony DeRamus, DC – Honorary Alumnus Award
Honors a friend of Life University who has demonstrated exceptional commitment and support to the mission and spirit of Life University. Dr. DeRamus and his wife Patty have made substantial financial contributions by way of an endowed scholarship and securing the naming rights of The Life University Wrestling Room.
- Jim Fox, DC – Lasting Purpose: To Give Award
Honors the individual who has demonstrated a notable increase in giving or an expansion of their giving to Life University. Dr. Fox is always ready to serve.
- Adam Apfelblat, DC – Lasting Purpose: To Do Award
Honors an individual who contributes time, talent and treasure to Life University and the chiropractic profession. Life University is very grateful for Dr. Apfelblat’s commitment.
- Selina Sigafoose, DC & Kevin Jackson, DC – Lasting Purpose: To Love Award
Honors individuals who exemplified the highest level of pride and love for Life University. This couple are beacons of light for Life University and the chiropractic profession.
- Susan Blaskay-Carver, DC – Lasting Purpose: To Serve Award
Honors the individual who has been a beacon for Life University in their service to their community and our profession. Dr. Blaskay is involved with the Life U Alumni Association and is a regular contributor.
- Eric Plasker, DC – LIFEforce Will Not Stop Award
Honors the individual who exemplified the highest level of commitment to the mission of LIFEforce. Dr. Plasker continuously supports Life University with his time, talent and treasure.
- David Marcarian – Philanthropy Award
Honors an individual who has made a significant impact to Life University through their financial contributions. Life University thanks David and MyoVision for their donation of equipment and training.
Dr. Gilles LaMarche, Life University’s vice president of Professional Relations, says, “We are so privileged that these honorees offer such comprehensive support to Life University, both in their time and effort, as well as through their generous financial donations.
