Jarrow Formulas donates to AIDS Project Los Angeles

Chiropractic Economics March 16, 2011

March 16, 2011 — Jarrow Formulas Inc. donated 1,000 bottles of the probiotic product Jarro-Dophilus CDS (clinically documented strains) to the AIDS Project Los Angeles Necessities of Life Program.

AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) is dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by HIV disease; reducing the incidence of HIV infection; and advocating for fair and effective HIV-related public policy.

APLA aspires to be a leader in the development and provision of multidisciplinary, high quality, cost effective initiatives designed to stop HIV transmission and to reduce the human suffering caused by HIV/AIDS. The organization responds rapidly to changes in the populations, priorities or needs of people affected by HIV disease.

The APLA seeks to leverage its core competencies to maximize impact and support broader community, national, and international initiatives and strategies. It strives to improve the overall quality of life for people living with HIV by increasing resources, sharing or pooling assets and working in partnerships and collaborations.

In the past, Jarrow Formulas has donated to other charitable organizations including more than 6,000 bottles of vitamins — 2962 bottles of “PomGuard” and 3,068 bottles of “Sterol Mega,” to Green Wells EECP (enhanced external counter pulsation) Health Center, a clinic specializing in noninvasive treatment of coronary artery disease.

Additionally, Jarrow Formulas donated almost 1,800 bottles of vitamins — 786 bottles of “SOD Synergy” and 1008 bottles of “Sterol Mega” to the AIDS Project Los Angeles Necessities of Life Program in September 2010.

Jarrow Formulas has also donated more than 10,000 containers of protein powder to Feeding America and the AIDS Project Los Angeles Necessities of Life Program in June 2010 and more than 3,250 bottles of vitamins, including protein, probiotic and antioxidant-rich supplements to the Children’s Institute Inc. (CII), in Los Angeles in April 2009.

Jarrow associates have also donated vitamins, clothing, and money to other causes, including the “Enduring Freedom K.I.A. Fund” to provide financial assistance to the families of fallen American soldiers.

“So many people at Jarrow Formulas have always been extremely generous with donations of all kinds to a wide range of organizations,” says Mark Becker, director, advertising/communications for the company. “We make every effort to be philanthropic and will continue in these humanitarian efforts.”
