On Sept. 6, Logan University opened the doors to the brand-new Fuhr Science Center building.
Logan’s doctor of chiropractic (DC) students had the opportunity to join co-founder and chairman of Activator Methods International, and the building’s namesake, Arlan Fuhr, DC (’61), in the building’s brand-new Activator Technique Lab.
“Having a new, state-of-the-art Activator Lab increases the ability for students to learn the technique and become proficient doctors prior to graduation,” said Jared Hardina, trimester 8 DC student. “The technique has proven to be applicable for all patients in all demographics, and the future of the technique continues to grow. Activator Methods has been at the forefront of chiropractic research and continues to greatly contribute to the trajectory of chiropractic.”
The inaugural class in the new building was celebrated with t-shirts, cookies, coffee and a giveaway of an Activator International V4. Students also signed a commemorative picture frame which was gifted to Dr. and Mrs. Fuhr to remember the occasion.
“Not many people have the honor of witnessing the opening of a building dedicated to them,” said Dr. Fuhr. “And here I am getting to teach the first class! It is truly an honor.”
Nearly 50 years ago, Fuhr established the Activator Method, the world’s most widely used instrument adjusting chiropractic technique, used by more than 70% of chiropractors.
