Historic week for chiropractic in the media

Chiropractic Economics August 24, 2010

August 24, 2010 — For the first time ever in the history of the profession, positive testimonials regarding the benefits of chiropractic appeared prominently this week in three major national publications: The Wall Street Journal, Sports Illustrated, and Working Mother.

The Wall Street Journal (8/17/10): The Foundation’s advertisement congratulating Jerry Rice on his induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame and sharing his positive chiropractic testimonial was featured on page 14A.

Sports Illustrated* (8/23/10): In selected issues on newsstands today, you can find the Foundation’s Jerry Rice ad that also ran in the WSJ earlier this week on page 58 of Sports Illustrated. The issue, featuring Titans running back – Chris Johnson, on the cover will have a high circulation considering it is one of the first SI issues focusing on the upcoming football season.

Working Mother (Aug/Sept): On page 57 of the current issue, you can find the Foundation’s advertisement focusing on the value of chiropractic care for pregnant women. The ad includes a positive testimonial from an OB GYN specialist.

*The ad will appear in every other issue the magazine distributes for a total distribution of 1.5 million subscribers of a total circulation of 3.1 million. The 90 percent reduction in the cost of the ad negotiated by the foundation justified in our mind the reduced circulation.
