March 16, 2012 — Earlier this week, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a 644-page final rule regarding state-run exchanges and marketplaces established under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
HHS did accept some of ACA’s recommendations that were issued last year including a request for state insurers participating in the exchange to consider a broader definition of the types of providers who may furnish primary care. Follow healthcare reform at www.acatoday.org/hcr.
