Foot Levelers becomes part of America’s Toughest Road Marathon

Chiropractic Economics Staff January 27, 2012

RoadmarathonJanuary 27, 2012 — Foot Levelers is joining the National College Blue Ridge Marathon and Half Marathon, as a primary sponsor in 2012.  This marathon takes place April 21 in Roanoke, Va., where Foot Levelers is headquartered.

“We are pleased to have Foot Levelers come on board as a primary sponsor for the event. There is a strong connection between marathon running and the benefits of orthotics. This is a natural partnership,” said Pete Eshelman, chairman of the marathon.

Foot Levelers will be the title sponsor of the race expo, and sponsor a pasta dinner for participants and their families on the evening before the Marathon. Famed marathoner, Bill Rodgers, and Dr. Tim Maggs will be speakers at the dinner. Maggs is a sports chiropractor and one of the country’s foremost authorities on running injuries. He travels the country teaching his sports biomechanics program, The Structural Management Program.

According to Maggs, “Sports biomechanics can add many years of running to a person’s life. Runners need to begin thinking proactively rather than just reacting when injured.”

Foot Levelers is excited to have one of its seminar speakers, Maggs, speaking at the dinner and the opportunity to integrate chiropractic into the running community.  National College Blue Ridge Marathon is billed as “America’s Toughest Road Marathon.”  The 2012 course includes 3,620 feet of total elevation gain and 7,234 feet of total elevation change as it navigates through the Blue Ridge Mountains and Roanoke.

“Foot Levelers is proud to be a part of an event that really tests each runner’s strength and endurance,” said Chuck Carver, Foot Levelers vice president of marketing.  “We are anxious to show the running community the value of our products, which can improve running efficiency.”
