EON Systems’ The Digital Office Version 5.0 receives ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification

Chiropractic Economics November 9, 2011

November 9, 2011 — EON Systems Inc. announced that The Digital Office Version 5.0 was certified as a Complete Ambulatory EHR by InfoGard, an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable Eligible Provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

The 2011/2012 criteria support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

“We are committed to providing efficient, full featured software to our clients. EON Systems’ The Digital Office version 5.0 is now certified as a complete ambulatory EHR and broadens the options for both current and prospective clients,” said Derek Greenwood, CEO. “We will continue to develop all our software both to meet new standards, but most importantly provide valuable functions that make it easier for healthcare providers to get more done.”
The Digital Office version 5.0 certification number is IG-2658-11-0137, certified Oct. 25, 2011. EON Systems invested extra manpower to not just pass the test, but to incorporate HL7 (a standardized messaging and text communications protocol between hospital and physician record systems, and between practice management systems), a tool that will enable many new features and data interchange between other systems to be easily incorporated in EON’s software in the future.

The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria, and EHR Modules meet one or more — but not all — of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible provider or hospital technology.
This complete EHR is 2011/2012 compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ATCB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.

The clinical quality measures to which The Digital Office version 5.0 has been certified are:

  • NQF 0001 Asthma Assessment
  • NQF 0013 Hypertension: Blood Pressure Measurement
  • NQF 0018 Controlling High Blood Pressure
  • NQF 0024 Weight Assessment and Counseling
  • NQF 0028 Tobacco Use Assessment and Cessation
  • NQF 0038 Childhood Immunization Status
  • NQF 0041 Influenza Immunization
  • NQF 0052 Low Back Pain: Use of Imaging Studies.
  • NQF 0421 Adult Weight Screening & Follow-Up

About EON Systems Inc.

Established in 1988, EON Systems has been providing billing, scheduling and EHR software for chiropractic, physical therapy, acupuncture and multi-disciplinary practices. Building from its original practice management software, The Practice Solution, its founder has developed a “flow-sensitive” approach in all its software. Flow-sensitive software follows the natural flow of an efficient practice and reduces the number of clicks involved in checking a patient through. Less clicks equals less work and less time. In 2005, EON Systems released Documentor, a superior documentation and note writing software. Not only is it highly customizable by the practitioner, but the note can be seen as the selections and data are entered – a unique feature in note-writing software. 2008 saw the release of Document Solution, consisting of the ability to fax, email, scan and store digital x-rays and documents by patient with their notes. This final component makes up the integrated package of The Digital Office. Version 5.0 is the certified EHR version of The Digital Office. For more information, visit www.eonsystems.net.

About ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification

The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that EHR technology is capable of meeting the 2011/2012 criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). The certifications include Complete EHRs, which meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology and EHR Modules, which meet one or more – but not all – of the criteria. ONC-ATCB certification aligns with Health Information Technology: Initial Set of Standards, Implementation Specifications, and Certification Criteria for Electronic Health Record Technology published in the Federal Register in July 2010 and strictly adheres to the test procedures published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) at the time of testing.
