3 modern digital marketing trends to delve into for new patients

Digital marketing trends come and go, but these three either continue to emerge or are channels to strongly consider and they continue to gain popularity

When we talk about chiropractic as a very hands-on practice, we mean that quite literally. Even the name chiropractic means to do by hand. In many ways, this hands-on approach is what makes chiropractic so appealing – but an old-school approach, despite day-to-day success, doesn’t mean you should shun modern digital marketing trends to bring in more new patients.

This warm, caring approach toward patients should extend to chiropractic digital marketing. The goal is to position chiropractic as a natural, safe alternative to standard medical care.

You should be using top-notch digital marketing communications (MARCOM for short) to reach out to prospective patients.

Video marketing

If you already have social media as part of your marketing campaign, you’ve likely noticed that sites such as Facebook and Instagram are placing more emphasis on their video capabilities, particularly for businesses. Facebook Live allows you to stream a video live at a specific time.

For example, you can announce a talk or demonstration on your Facebook page, and then use Facebook Live to stream it. Viewers can leave comments and ask questions as they watch the video. This provides an excellent way for you to connect with users who may not be able to be at your talk in person.

Digital marketing trends: chatbots

If you have ever interacted with an online program that behaved like a live customer service representative, you’ve encountered the latest in digital MARCOM technology, known as a chatbot. These interface programs are meant to simulate live help desk conversations with users on a number of topics.

Examples in a chiropractic setting could range from setting or reminding about appointments, to answering general questions about chiropractic care, to offering health tips. The advantage of using chatbots on your website as part of your overall marketing plan is that such a program can easily handle basic inquiries from users, freeing up your staff for other tasks. Furthermore, digital marketing trends such as chatbots can switch users over to a live person if needed (very important to keep your practice HIPAA-compliant).

Chatbots are a great addition to your online marketing campaign because they can help familiarize new users with your practice in a friendly manner, which goes right back to the warm, approachable feel you want for your practice.

Infographics

If you track the most-visited pages on your website, you will likely find that one of the highest-ranked will be the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). One great way to take advantage of cutting-edge digital marketing is to create infographics in place of just text for your FAQ page.

Infographics are meant to provide complex answers in a graphic format that is easier for users to understand than if you only provided text. As an example, if you wanted to show data on chiropractic’s growing popularity, you could just list numbers and percentages on your FAQ page, or you could arrange it in an infographic that not only provides the data in a more comprehensible format, but will catch the user’s eye once they load the page.

An example of an infographic for DCs who sell tumeric or curcumin supplements:

While many of these digital marketing communications techniques seem overwhelming at first, they can become a vital part of your campaign to bring in new patients. This will free you up to focus on what really matters – your caring approach to healing and wellness.
