February 10, 2013 — The Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) has recently completed a multi-focused training program that involved new councilors, Doctor of Chiropractic Program (DCP) leaders, and Academy Site Team Visitors.
“The purpose of this training is to enable all of the people involved to become more effective in their particular roles and to improve the quality of the DCP graduates” said Craig Little, DC, council chair.
New councilor orientation/training: On Jan. 10, 2013, the CCE provided an initial orientation-training session for nine new councilors in preparation for their work in Semi-Annual and Annual Council meetings.

- Parliamentary law and Roberts Rules

Also on May 12-13, 2012, the CCE conducted an initial formal training session for 12 new Site Team Academy members who were selected from an application process that included 50 candidates. The training was very successful as a mix of new members from DCPs and private practitioners worked together to better understand the standards and the accreditation review process, and to write and edit mock reports.
DCP program training workshop: On Nov. 30, 2012, the CCE conducted a workshop for DCP leaders to help the colleges/programs better understand the new 2012 CCE Accreditation Standards and how they may be addressed through the self-study process and accreditation reviews.

Training coordinators/leaders: CCE training activities are coordinated and led by Mr. Ray Bennett, CCE vice president for accreditation and pperations, and by Robert E. Percuoco, DC, chair of the Council Site Team Academy Committee, with support by Craig Little, DC, council chair and Tom Benberg, EdD, CCE president.
“Training is the key to quality decision making — consistent, fair, and helpful,” said Benberg. “I was happy to see that the post training/workshop evaluation surveys indicated that participants indicated a high level of satisfaction with the information conveyed as well as the level of engagement among the attendees. We plan to provide additional training/workshops in the November/December 2013 time frame for DCPs and Academy members.”
