The event took place at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn.

A crowd of more than 250 turned out to honor Sawyer, and to support the university. The evening began with cocktails and a dinner program featuring entertainment by locally famous comedian/sports announcer Dick Jonkowski.

During the award ceremony, Sawyer was honored for his support of the chiropractic profession throughout his career as well as his ongoing support of Northwestern. Many of Dr. Sawyer’s family members and friends accompanied him and his wife Jane to the event.

A number of former ACA colleagues offered congratulatory messages to Sawyer via a video presentation; and several previous Brilliant Star award winners attended the event, offering their congratulations to Sawyer. The evening concluded with dancing and live music by the Wolverines Big Band.
