July 10, 2013 — Anna Rodriguez was presented the Performance Health FSMTA Humanitarian Award at this year’s Florida State Massage Therapy Association Annual Convention.
Performance Health, manufacturer and marketer of Biofreeze, Prossage, and Thera-Band health and wellness products, honors an individual annually in the massage therapy industry for their efforts in improving the welfare of their clients and demonstrating selfless devotion to others. This is the ninth year that Performance Health has presented the award.
Bob Poirier, vice president of commercial operations for Performance Health, had the honor of presenting the award to Rodriguez.
“As the founder of The Florida Coalition Against Human Trafficking, Anna has received numerous recognitions and awards for her passion and dedication to identify, rescue and restore victims lives. We are very proud to add this humanitarian award to her long list of accolades and pleased that we had opportunity to present it on her birthday,” stated Poirier. “Anna tirelessly travels around the country speaking and training law enforcement, community organizations and faith based organizations about human trafficking. Although she is neither a massage therapist nor a member of the Florida State Massage Therapy Association, her value to massage is immense as she continues to help us in our fight to stop unlicensed and illicit activity within the massage profession.”
Upon receiving the award, Rodriguez said, “I am honored and thankful to Performance Health for bestowing this recognition as it motivates me even further to pursue my mission of advocating for human rights and especially eradicating human trafficking.”
In addition to honoring Rodriguez at the FSMTA convention, Performance Health will donate $1,000 to the Florida Coalition Against Human Trafficking organization.
