ACA member highlighted for concussion treatment

Chiropractic Economics December 3, 2012

December 3, 2012 — ACA member Kelly Ryder, DC, was recently featured in a story on VermilionToday.com for his work treating athletes with concussions.

His clinic, Texas SportsChiro Care in Dallas, was recently designated as a Concussion Health Certified Center, a distinction which recognizes that Texas SportsChiro staff members have successfully completed Concussion Health’s education and competency-based certification.

“Concussions are very important to me because the chance a kid will go pro is very slim. I realize that they will be adults and our future leaders of the world one day. They’ll make important decisions for us,” said Ryder. This year, at least one in 10 athletes will suffer a concussion, according to the Centers for Disease Control. Most sports- and recreation-related concussions seen in emergency rooms (65 percent) occur among youths age 5-18.
