CCCLA welcomes prominent spinal rehabilitation expert

Chiropractic Economics February 23, 2011

February 23, 2011 — Students at Cleveland Chiropractic College-Los Angeles (CCCLA) welcomed Dr. Craig Liebenson to campus Jan. 27, to offer a spine care lecture titled “The Spinal Subluxation: Janse, Janda and Modern Neuroscience.”

A primary topic of the presentation was the avoidance of spine and back injuries by utilizing proactive prevention techniques. In addition to his presentation, Liebenson also taught a hands-on workshop in the Student Health Center.

The owner of L.A. Sports and Spine Center in West Los Angeles, Liebenson is a well-known speaker, consultant, and sports medicine specialist. He is also the author of Rehabilitation of the Spine: A Practitioner’s Manual, which offers guidance for spinal rehabilitative procedures utilizing chiropractic, manual medicine, physiatry, and more to aid in spine rehabilitation.

He was pleased to have the opportunity to share his expertise on the modern neuromatrix with Clevelanders, a group he felt was well prepared to benefit from his presentation.

“Dr. Debra Bonnefin invited me to speak at CCCLA and it was a pleasure to see the students trained there by her and Dr. Muffit Jensen,” Liebenson said. “(They are) a cut above most chiropractors since they have been introduced to the Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) concepts and methods of Pavel Kolar.”

Kolar is a renowned Czech physiotherapist who is the author of the DNS diagnostic and treatment approach, which is based on developmental kinesiology. He specializes in pediatrics, sports medicine, and neurological rehabilitation.
