Chiropractic EHR software can be your practice management consultant

Chiropractic Economics Staff July 7, 2022

EHR/PM software handles safety, compliance, patient care, becoming your practice management consultant

EHR/PM software handles safety, compliance, patient care, becoming your practice management consultant

Chiropractic electronic health records (EHR), or practice management (PM) software, is a large investment, but one that has the potential to supercharge the way you practice, and even act as your practice management consultant. EHR and PM software can help you run your business more efficiently, stay current on regulatory metrics and requirements, provide improved patient care and more.

You can use these systems to help ensure your practice is doing its absolute best to take care of your patients’ needs, and increase your bottom line.

A practice management consultant to help run your practice

EHR and PM software can help you maintain a broad overview of how your practice is doing as a type of practice management consultant. You can ensure the operations and business side of your clinic is functioning properly and that nothing important is being overlooked.

Paper-based systems for running your business are always subject to human error; when you manage everything together electronically, you reduce the risk that important or significant information will be omitted, because you will have software that verifies and double-checks whatever you enter into the system.

Keep in compliance

For the purposes of taxes, insurance and billing, PM software keeps track of financial and billing data, so it is always at your fingertips. Because the software records every instance of income and expenditure, it can help you avoid forgetting important documentation, like receipts for tax-deductible expenses.

Digitally-stored information can be maintained more securely than can paper-based records. Encryption protects your patients’ data, whether you are looking at it on your office computer or accessing it from the cloud via a mobile device.

Also, your patients see other providers, and EHR can help you access information from other practices and specialties, allowing you to get a complete picture of each patient’s health, including their physician’s care plans, lab tests and medications. As you choose a suite of software to manage your practice and act as your practice management consultant, be sure to do your research and take care to find the right vendors — and find out what level of technical support will be included, in case you or your staff encounter an issue.

Ultimately, EHR/PM should make your job easier and make it possible to provide stellar patient care, all of which will improve your bottom line.
