December 15, 2010 — The World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) is delighted to announce the first early bird prize winner, Ormira Manzano Bertussi, for its Congress to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil April 6-9, 2011.
Bertussi is a Brazilian chiropractic student from Sao Paulo in her final year at the University Anhembi Morumbi. The second and final early bird drawing will be for those who register for the Congress by Jan. 30, 2011.
The WFC expects this to be its biggest and most inspiring Congress yet! That all might be due to the magnificent host city and venue, the five almost free pre-congress seminars, the academic agenda featuring its perfect mix of science, art and philosophy, and the sizzling socials rounding out the event!
But this year most of all, it’s the wish of the profession as a whole to support the Brazilian Association of Chiropractic’s (ABQ) fundraising campaign to promote chiropractic legislation in Brazil. For the past four years, the ABQ has fought for legislation against the powerful physiotherapy lobby that wants chiropractic declared part of their physiotherapy profession.
Brazilian chiropractors continue to protect their title and their profession as a separate entity; a battle that must be won — for Brazil and for the profession everywhere.
