What do Sidney Crosby, Tom Brady, and Lebron James have in common? Between their salaries and endorsement contracts, they are the highest paid professional athletes in their respective sports. Why them? The answer is very simple: They consistently produce outstanding results, wins, and championships.
You see, when you consistently produce results, you create a culture buzz around you which others begin to want to be a part of. There is nothing else like it. Tom Brady doesn’t have to take courses on how to attract endorsement deals; LeBron James doesn’t have to learn special negotiation techniques for negotiating a big money contract; and Sidney Crosby doesn’t have to hang out at the local shopping mall asking people to buy his merchandise. It’s because their results speak for themselves. No matter how convincing they might be – the benchmark for their future earnings will be their past successes.
Many chiropractors lose sight of this fact. You can have the best marketing campaign, or you can learn the most up to date promotional techniques, but if you cannot deliver consistently productive clinical results, your patients will not consistently produce patient referrals. The results you can produce are directly proportional to the referrals you will receive.
Learning to achieve outstanding clinical results requires commitment on the chiropractor’s part. It requires putting your ego aside and becoming open to improving the way you provide assessment and treatments to your patients. It also requires you to be honest with yourself by asking: What do I need to do better? Achieving clinical success requires you to put your patients’ goals above your own financial goals by making the commitment to invest your time and money into the areas which you require improvement.
All of the above mentioned professional athletes found people they admired who had achieved incredible success and by seeking out a mentor their own personal goals for success began to take on a specific direction. I was fortunate enough to find a mentor early on in my career and now my results allow me the luxury of no longer promoting myself or my practice as my patients send me over 600 new patient referrals per year.
