June 8, 2013 — Topricin Pain Relief and Healing Cream has been listed among nationally recommended over-the-counter (OTC) health products 2012–2013 in an initiative conducted by U.S. News Health in collaboration with Pharmacy Times.
The product has earned the “No. 1 Pharmacists Recommended” designation in the “Topical Analgesics” category, along with 17 other national OTC brands, and is the only homeopathic formula to earn that distinction.
The industry trade publication Pharmacy Times has surveyed tens of thousands of pharmacists nationwide over the past 16 years to pinpoint the top pharmacist-recommended OTC products within a range of categories. The results, published annually in its OTC Guide, are widely circulated to pharmacists throughout the country to help them guide consumers’ shopping decisions. This year, in collaboration with U.S. News Health, the survey results are available to consumers in the “Top Recommended Health Products project.”
U.S. News and Pharmacy Times have culled through pharmacists’ survey responses to show how different brands stack up in 148 over-the-counter product categories, from cough suppressants and headache relief to sleep aids, and antacids. While U.S. News displays all brands that received at least 1 percent of pharmacists’ votes, only those that garnered the most votes within a given category earned the “No. 1 Pharmacist Recommended” designation.
Topricin is made and marketed by Topical BioMedics Inc., Rhinebeck, N.Y. Lou Paradise, president and chief of research, says, “We are delighted that Topricin has made this highly respected list, and are honored that we are making a strong impression on pharmacists since we are not as yet in mass market. It is testament to the potency and effectiveness of our Topricin product line.”
