The passing of Blair Brice Bauer, DC, DABCO

0127_The_Passing_of_Blair_Brice_BauerJanuary 27, 2015 — Blair Brice Bauer, DC, DABCO, a former ACA Delegate and member of the ACA Board of Governors, passed away on Jan. 19, 2015, at his home in Richmond, Minnesota.

Bauer was involved with the North Dakota Chiropractic Association (NDCA), serving on the board until being elected as president from 1993–95. He also served as an ACA Delegate from 1995–2003 and was a member of the ACA Board of Governors.

He earned his Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedics and worked as a consultant for the North Dakota Workers’ Compensation Bureau. In 1996, he received the NDCA Chiropractor of the Year award and in 2007, the NDCA Honorary Lifetime Membership.

Bauer was born on July 6, 1949, in Fargo, North Dakota. After graduating from high school, he attended North Dakota State University and earned a degree in speech pathology. Following graduation, he accepted a position in Dickinson, North Dakota, with the Dickinson Public School System.

Shortly after his marriage to Janet Wehking in 1972, Bauer earned his master’s degree in audiology from Minot State University. Bauer earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa.

He and his wife Jan then returned to Dickinson where he continued to practice until his retirement in 2011.

Bauer is survived by his wife, Jan; his son, Brett (Brittany) Bauer, Buffalo, Minn.; his daughter, Whitney Bauer, Minneapolis; two grandchildren, Brice and Vivian Bauer; a brother, Lane (Julie) Bauer, Las Cruces, N.M.; his sister-in-law, Roxanne Bauer, Bismarck; his nieces and nephews; and stepfather, Ernest Mueller, New Leipzig. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Norma (Lasher) Bauer; and brother, Mark.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Cards can be sent to: Jan Bauer, 18938 Fall Ridge Road, Richmond, MN 56368.
