Texas Senate approves Senate Bill 304

Chiropractic Economics May 19, 2017

May 19, 2017—Parker University’s president, Bill Morgan, DC, takes great pleasure in announcing the passage of Senate Bill 304, The Texas Chiropractic Board of Examiners (TBCE) Sunset Bill. This bill continues the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners’ authority to regulate chiropractic in Texas for twelve years.

The bill also clarifies the authority of doctors of chiropractic to diagnose. The bill eliminates the requirement that chiropractic facilities register with the TBCE and improves the TBCE’s complaint and investigation processes.

The bill now goes to the governor for his signature.  Our thanks go out to the many people in Texas and across the nation for their support of our efforts to protect the integrity of chiropractic in Texas.

The Texas Chiropractic Association played a key role in shepherding SB 304 and other chiropractic-related bills through the arduous legislative process.  This is a signature achievement for chiropractic in Texas and bodes well for the future of the profession.
