Stuart E. Hoffman, DC, honored as ICA’s 2015 Chiropractor of the Year

Chiropractic Economics May 18, 2015

May ica-logo18, 2015 — Stuart E. Hoffman, DC, FICA, longtime chiropractic leader and ICA member for more than 30 years, has been honored as ICA’s Chiropractor of the Year for 2015.

This prestigious honor was awarded in recognition of his decades of service in a host of important duties including chair of ICA committees, service in ICA’s Representative Assembly, and, as founder and president of ICA’s exclusively recognized professional chiropractic malpractice insurance liability provider, ChiroSecure.

Hoffman has and continues to labor tirelessly for chiropractors and chiropractic, making extraordinarily positive and significant contributions to the profession in many vital dimensions. He is currently active with the Chiropractic Summit, the Da Vinci Group, the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, FHC, and along with his chiropractic malpractice insurance company ChiroSecure, has created scholarships for pediatric research while supporting several chiropractic colleges and state associations.

Hoffman is a Life University alumni, where he graduated with the class of 1981. It was in Michigan where he began his professional practice as well as his service to the Michigan Chiropractic Council and the ICA.

He was elected as a Distinguished Fellow of the ICA in 1992 and has received many subsequent awards. In 1992, he responded to a call from then ICA President James R. Gregg, DC, to organize an ICA professional chiropractic malpractice insurance liability company to serve the malpractice insurance needs of the association’s members nationwide.

Since then, Hoffman has devoted his professional energy to establishing and developing ChiroSecure, ICA’s exclusively endorsed and recognized chiropractic malpractice insurance carrier, earning the respect and appreciation of the profession and of the insurance industry in which he continues to be an active leader.

Hoffman is a member of a distinguished chiropractic family. Both of his brothers, Steve and Robert Hoffman, are successful chiropractors. Robert Hoffman served as the president of the ICA and was named ICA’s Chiropractor of the Year in 2002. Stuart and Robert have the distinction of being the only brothers to have both received the ICA’s highest award.

“Dr. Hoffman has made and continues to make extraordinary contributions to the chiropractic profession nationwide,” said ICA President George Curry, DC. “I want to congratulate Dr. Hoffman on his long overdue and well-deserved recognition and to make sure that all within the chiropractic profession know how hard and selflessly he has worked to provide doctors in all 50 states with a unique level of chiropractic malpractice insurance services and options. We in the ICA are proud to recognize and salute him and to honor his extraordinary record of service.”

The Chiropractor of the Year award is ICA’s highest honor, created by ICA Founder and President B.J. Palmer, and presented annually to one exceptional individual who has distinguished himself or herself through extraordinary service to the ICA and the chiropractic profession.

Hoffman’s award was announced at the ICA’s 89th Annual Meeting held on the Life University campus in Marietta, Georgia April 30 through May 2, 2015. The presentation was made by last year’s ICA Chiropractor of the Year, Julie Mayer-Hunt, at the ICA’s gala banquet on May 1.
