Parker University’s chapter of the Student American Chiropractic Association (SACA) recently received the prestigious Student Chapter of the Year Award for its outstanding achievements.
SACA is the student organization of the larger American Chiropractic Association (ACA), which is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, and has more than 16,000 members.
Headed for the Hill
One of the student group’s accomplishments happened this January, when more than 25 Parker SACA students traveled to Washington, DC, to participate in the American Chiropractic Association’s (ACA) Engage 2025 Conference. This annual event offers members educational opportunities, networking, leadership development and thanks to its location in Washington, participation in an event called Chiropractic’s Day on Capitol Hill.
Representing the university, Parker students visited the Capitol and met with congressional members and staff to advocate for the Chiropractic Medicare Coverage Modernization Act (H.R. 539/S. 106), which was just reintroduced in the US House of Representatives in mid-January.
Students shared with the national leaders the importance of expanding Medicare patients’ access to evidence-based chiropractic care. These valuable experiences helped strengthen the Parker SACA chapter’s commitment to advancing healthcare and served as a reminder about how critical advocacy is in the chiropractic profession.
The award
Parker’s SACA group was awarded Student Chapter of the Year for 2025 during the conference in recognition of their dedication, hard work and excellence. The award honors a chapter that demonstrates extraordinary teamwork, collaboration and commitment to furthering the ACA’s mission, vision and values, and is a positive, visible force on national and campus levels.
“I couldn’t be prouder of Parker University’s SACA for being recognized as the ACA’s 2025 Student Chapter of the Year. This honor is a testament to their dedication, hard work and unwavering commitment to advancing the chiropractic profession,” said Parker University President William E. Morgan, DC. “Their leadership, service and passion continue to inspire, and I have no doubt they will help shape the future of chiropractic.
“Congratulations to our outstanding students on this well-deserved recognition!”
