Parker University, Texas A&M University-Commerce sign articulation agreement

Chiropractic Economics December 16, 2011

Articulation_Agreement_TXAM2December 16, 2011 — Parker University recently signed an articulation agreement with Texas A&M University-Commerce that creates new education opportunities for Texas A&M University-Commerce students who are interested in pursuing a doctor of chiropractic degree.

Students can begin their college coursework with Texas A&M University-Commerce and finish their degree at Parker University. The agreement was celebrated during an articulation agreement ceremony held at Parker University.

“We’re thrilled about the partnership with Texas A&M University-Commerce,” said Dr. Fabrizio Mancini, president of Parker University. “This agreement creates a seamless pathway for Texas A&M University-Commerce students who want to continue their higher education to become a doctor of chiropractic.”

“Parker University and Texas A&M University-Commerce both have similar principles and foundations,” said Dr. Dan Jones, president and CEO of Texas A&M University-Commerce. “We’re excited to be entering into this relationship.”

From this agreement, students will have an opportunity to matriculate early, essentially saving them one year off of an undergraduate degree and one year’s worth of tuition. Students who attend three years at Texas A&M University-Commerce have the opportunity to transfer to Parker University and complete their bachelor of science degree while concurrently obtaining their doctor of chiropractic degree.

“Some A&M alumni have already become students at Parker, so we’ve been sharing students for quite some time — now we’re making it an official partnership,” said Jones.

The new partnership between the two institutions marks a major milestone as the first articulation agreement at Parker University.

“This signals the beginning of further partnerships to be developed between similar institutions,” said Mancini.
