Parker University opens enrollment for Electrocardiograph Technician program

Chiropractic Economics Staff July 18, 2024

EKG Technician training at Parker University

Parker University offers a new training program in electrocardiography (EKG). This program prepares students to become essential members of a cardiovascular healthcare team, paving the way for a successful career in this vital field.

An EKG technician specializes in conducting tests to help further evaluate a patient’s cardiovascular health by employing specialized equipment to measure the heart’s electrical activity. EKG technicians perform diagnostic tests and aid physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions. An EKG technician can work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, labs, physician offices, outpatient clinics, diagnostic testing centers, and nursing and long-term care facilities.

The future is bright

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there will be a 14% increase in job openings for EKG technicians through 2030. There are currently about 55,660 jobs available for EKG technicians (as of 2023).
